Trenchless Sewer Replacement

Trenchless sewer technology is a method of replacing buried pipelines (such as sewer, water, or natural gas pipes) without the need for a traditional construction trench. Also called Pipe Bursting, this technology can save the homeowner hundred of dollars.

How Does It Work?

The process involves digging two holes for entry points, one where the sewer exits the home or business and the other at either the property line or in the street where it connects to the mainline. Using the Hammerhead trenchless sewer machine made by Ditch Witch, which operates using a high powered hydraulic, a pipe bursting head is pulled through the old pipe with a new pipe connected behind it. It breaks the old pipe as the new pipe is pulled through. Because the pipe is fused or melted together there will not be any joints in the pipe upon completion making it leak proof and HDPE pipe resists corrosion. This pipe is better than traditional pipe such as clay, cast iron or pvc plastic piping. It is the pipe of choice for trenchless repair. The flexible, semi-crystalline material characteristics of HDPE exhibits a higher capacity for tolerating high pressure (up to 100 psi) and the unique performance of the HDPE polymer actually flexes under stress and then returns to its normal state which provides the HDPE with the ability to absorb pressure. In laymen’s terms this means the pipe is highly flexible exhibiting that is has some kind of memory preventing it from cracking or breaking under pressure.

How Long Does It Take?

The entire project of digging the entry points and pulling a new pipe can take 1-2 days.

What Is The Difference?

The major difference is that the trenchless sewer installation system reduces destruction to your landscaping and hard surface areas such as driveways, patios, sidewalks and concrete. By only digging two small access holes the process preserves what otherwise would have to be dug up and replaced by traditional methods of pipe replacement.

What Are The Costs?

The cost depends on the location and the landscape (what’s above the pipe being replaced). We will provide you with a free written estimate. Call us today 661-533-1234. We also give “second opinions”.

What Is The Lifespan Of HDPE Pipe?

HDPE pipe has an estimated lifetime of over two hundred years.

What Is The Warranty?

We guarantee the pipe will not fail in your life time.
